Nottingham Forest shopped effectively in Italy last season, enjoying great success when signing Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina.
Now, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are looking at the possibility of signing another centre-back from Serie A.
Tuttomercatoweb report Empoli’s Saba Goglichidze has attracted interest from Nottingham Forest, having previously been close to a move to AS Roma in the January transfer window.
The Georgian’s big transfer failed to materialise and he ended up enduring relegation with the Empoli in the 2024/25 season. Despite that, he’s still attracting interest.
Nottingham Forest hold strong interest in the centre-back and are ‘ready to offer €8m’ to bring him to the City Ground, report TMW.
Empoli currently want €10m to sell the 21-year-old, who has also attracted interest from Udinese and Parma.
The Friulian outfit see Goglichidze as one of two replacements for Jaka Bijol, who has joined Leeds United on a permanent transfer.
A host of Italian clubs like Juventus and AC Milan have previously looked at Goglichidze but for now they seem to be focused on other players. He can now prove to be a market opportunity for Nottingham Forest.
