Nottingham Forest left-back Nikolas Ioannou could be on his way back to Italy, according to local reports.
The 26-year-old had already played in Serie B last season, where he spent a year on loan at Como. Now the very same club are said to be interested in taking him on a new deal.
Tutto Mercato Web writes that the agreement for the transfer is ‘close’, and is expected to be made official ‘in the coming days’.
Ioannou is said to be on board with the operation, since he ‘expresses a desire to return’ to Como following his loan spell, where he made 31 appearances.
For now, Tutto Mercato Web doesn’t say how much the Italian club are spending on the transfer, even though it sounds like it will be a permanent move. They point out that Nottingham Forest are doing a lot of business in the summer window, and following the arrival of new left-backs, they are ‘ready to hand over’ the player to the Serie B side.
Iannou’s price on Transfermarkt is currently €500k, and since Nottingham Forest are selling him to a club from the second division, it’s unlikely they’d make a lot more.
