Nottingham Forest continue to follow Fenerbahçe’s Archie Brown, after looking at him in the summer window.
The Premier League signed Luca Netz from Borussia Mönchengladbach in February 2025, and he played 355 minutes from seven matches for the Reds last season.
Netz may have failed to impress Oliver Glasner, who arrived at the City Ground in July. Therefore, Nottingham Forest would have looked at Brown to strengthen the left side of defence.
In the end, Forest didn’t take the 24-year-old away from Fenerbahçe or sign another left-back.
The new manager has started Neco Williams as his first choice left-back while Netz has settled for a backup role. To put it in context, the German has played 56 minutes from four matches for Nottingham Forest.

Nottingham Forest keeping interest alive
Archie Brown had spells in West Bromwich Albion and Derby County’s academies. He left the UK when Swiss side Lausanne-Sport signed him in 2021. In 2023, they sold him to KAA Gent, who then let him join the Turkish club last summer.
The defender managed five goals and seven assists from 38 matches, operating as a left-back, in his debut season.
Back in May, Sport Witness covered a report from Turkey explaining that the Reds had offered €16m for Brown. The Yellow Canaries had turned it down and demanded €18m for him.
Later that month, we relayed news of Sunderland submitting an offer for the Nottingham Forest target.
Manchester United and Chelsea were also in the picture, and it’s possible the links were to put pressure on the Black Cats and Oliver Glasner’s side.
Nottingham Forest have kept their interest alive, and Tuesday’s print edition of Sabah covers their plan to sign him.
Brown dream target for Glasner’s side
Archie Brown has two goals and an assist from 10 matches for Fenerbahçe this season. The City Ground club are dreaming about bringing the summer target back to England.

Oliver Glasner’s side are preparing a €15m offer to sign him when the window reopens in January.
Fenerbahçe, however, are demanding €30m for their player. That’s mainly because the Istanbul club have no intention of selling him in the winter market. There’s no indication whether Nottingham Forest intend to improve their offer.
Brown’s contract expires in 2028, with an option for another year. If he were to finish the season with Fenerbahçe, they would have to think about selling him next summer.
