Nottingham Forest fullback Renan Lodi may have taken a few days off during the World Cup, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been training.
Even though the 24-year-old has travelled to Brazil for a break, he was now spotted working at his former club Athletico Paranaense.
Lodi’s presence at the training centre was published on the club’s Instagram account, with them saying he’s ‘keeping his shape’ there as Nottingham Forest’s next official match will only take place at the end of December.
The Reds actually have a few friendlies before the official competitions are back, although it isn’t clear if the Brazilian will be featuring in those.
Renan Lodi actually has 16 appearances for Brazil, and was even a starter for the Copa America in 2021, and seemed like having a chance to be in the World Cup.
However, it’s well known that he hadn’t been doing well at Atletico Madrid last season, so besides being loaned out by the Spanish club to Nottingham Forest, he also lost his place for Brazil.
He even had a few minutes in a friendly in September, but that wasn’t enough to convince manager Tite, who took Juventus’ Alex Sandro and Sevilla’s Alex Telles for the left-back position.
