According to Greek website Sdna.Gr, Nottingham Forest’s Joao Carvalho is open to leaving the club in the January transfer window, with Trabzonspor and Olympiacos said to be still interested in his services.
We’ve previously covered claims from both the Turkish and Greek press about the Nottingham Forest player leaving the Championship side in the new year, and today, Sdna.Gr claim the Portuguese attacker is considering an exit due to his struggles this season.
Signed for €15m last year, the 22 year old has failed to prove his worth with Nottingham Forest and after the arrival of Sabri Lamouchi, he’s no longer a guaranteed starter.
A move away from the club seems likely, and Sdna report if he leaves Nottingham Forest, his next destination could be Trabzonspor or Olympiacos.
At this stage it seems a loan move is the likeliest option but given how much Nottingham Forest paid for him last summer, and reports in Turkey that Trabzonspor are looking to loan him, with an option, or obligation, to buy is possible.
Carvalho’s contract will expire at the end of June 2023.
