It seems Nottingham Forest may be about to win another battle against West Ham United for a Brazilian.
In the past few days, we’ve seen many local reports saying the Hammers are in talks to sign Vitão from Internacional.
Revista Colorada, who broke the news, now writes that Nottingham Forest entered the fight and are are putting together an interesting bid to get the signing.
It’s said that the Reds showed they can pay a bigger fee than West Ham, and also offered him a higher salary. That places the City Ground side as the favourites for the transfer.
The outlet also claims that Nottingham Forest want Vitão as a replacement for Murillo, who’s been watched by Paris Saint Germain and Barcelona.
The Reds also seem to be winning the fight for Carlos Miguel, as according to reports from Brazil, the player chose the Tricky Trees, even though West Ham also wanted to pay his release clause.
Back to Vitão, though, it remains interesting that the chase for him is mostly reported by Revista Colorada, with the story not picked up by any major outlets in Brazil so far.
Maybe this is a tactic to pressure West Ham into offering a little more, time may make that clearer.
