Since Nottingham Forest fullback Renan Lodi showed up training at his former club Athletico Paranaense, their fans have been very hopeful that they can sign him soon.
The player’s wife recently claimed there’s a wish from him to return to the Brazilian side, as she’s currently pregnant and they’d like to have their baby in their home country.
With Lodi now posting a picture at Athletico’s training centre and saying ‘my home’ in the caption, that only made people more curious about a potential move.
However, according to Goal Brasil, that transfer is not happening. It’s claimed that despite his family’s wish, there’s no negotiation going on between the parties.
Renan Lodi belongs to Atletico Madrid and is loaned to Nottingham Forest until the end of the season, so Athletico would need an agreement with both clubs to have a chance to sign him in January.
As recently reported by Globo Esporte, the Brazilian side’s only chance would be to get the player in the middle of the year. And that would obviously be easier in case the Reds choose not to keep him following the loan spell.
