The Italian media continues to share some updates of Nottingham Forest’s bid to sign Roger Ibanez from AS Roma.
Following initial reports claiming the Reds placed a €25m offer to land the defender, journalist Paolo Rochetti now brings some details of what is going on.
According to his story, Nottingham Forest’s offer is actually of €24m plus performance bonuses. The problem is that those goals are not easy to achieve.
That’s why the clubs are now ‘working’ to make the bonuses ‘easier’. Plus, there’s also a discussion regarding the initial fee.
It’s claimed that Roma ask for €25m, and now try their best to get Nottingham Forest to raise that.
The story doesn’t have a verdict on whether the clubs are going well enough for a happy ending, even though it seems clear those are advanced negotiations for the move.
We must also point out that today, Ibanez’s agent spoke to the Italian media and denied that Nottingham Forest made an offer.
He also claimed that Ibanez is happy at Roma, even though there’s no guarantee he’ll end up staying at the club.
