On Tuesday, Brazil’s UOL reported Nottingham Forest and Palmeiras were close to an agreement for the transfer of Danilo, but that report wasn’t backed up by other sources.
In fact, there are those who say that there’s still a long way for the transfer to be confirmed. And very interesting details are brought by journalist Jorge Nicola.
On his Youtube channel, it’s claimed that Nottingham Forest made an ‘unusual’ offer. That was for a loan, and in case Danilo makes three appearances for the club, then an automatic €20m buying clause would be triggered.
Nicola claims that’s a way for the Reds to ‘break the rules’ and not go over a ‘cap’ for investments. That’s basically him explaining that the club would rather leave that spending for next season.
Palmeiras, however, don’t like that possibility. There’s concern that Danilo could not make those three appearances and the Brazilian club would just lose money in that operation.
It’s said that in case Nottingham Forest improve their offer, or at least the payment method, then the deal could be done.
It all sounds like the Reds could just take a loan with an automatic purchase, like many clubs do, but they’d rather test the player’s adaptation first.
