Nottingham Forest are very much in the race for Davide Frattesi and are now pushing for a transfer.
Last week, Sport Witness covered how a new offer to Inter Milan was about to be made. This followed up their interest in January, when a move to the City Ground fell through.
Inter wanted Curtis Jones as a replacement but a failure to sign him made sure that Frattesi wasn’t allowed to leave. That was even confirmed by the player’s agent.
Now, Inter have more time to sign midfielders. This is giving rise to the possibility of Frattesi’s move to Nottingham Forest finally going through.
Push being made
Quotidiano Sportivo look at how Juventus could also be interested in Frattesi. This is because ex-Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has joined the Old Lady and he was key in the Italian’s rise at the Neroverdi.
But it is Nottingham Forest who are a much more likely candidate.
They are preparing an offer of €25m plus bonuses, with Inter’s demand currently at €30m.
The idea of a move to Nottingham Forest now appears ‘particularly concrete’. This is because there has been fresh contact, in the past few hours, between the midfielder’s entourage and the Midlands club.
Juve remain interested but they are yet to make a formal move.
Deal should go through
It is key to note that Frattesi’s entourage is the same as that of Lorenzo Lucca. This shows that they are very close to Nottingham Forest, who have another Italian in Nicolo Savona at the club.
The gap between the two clubs is minor, as of now. Inter don’t see Frattesi as part of their plans, having barely used him in the 2025/26 campaign.
Juve could be interested but their financial capabilities can be easily questioned. As a result, the deal feels like a matter of when rather than if for Nottingham Forest.
It could be good for the 26-year-old’s career too. He may not play European football but it will be a chance to get himself back on track after struggles in the past 12 months.
