Nottingham Forest are just one step from completing the signing of Nino from Fluminense, according to claims from Brazil.
Journalist Bruno Andrade writes that only the contract signing is lacking for the move to become official.
It’s said Nottingham Forest and Fluminense have had a verbal agreement since last week.
The Rio de Janeiro side played in the Copa Libertadores final at the weekend, so that was a pretty good reason for the deal to be kept in secret until then.
Andrade’s story on UOL says the price for this transfer is being concealed, but other outlets in Brazil have been claiming that Nottingham Forest will pay €7m.
With the Brazilian season coming to an end in December, the Tricky Trees probably had no problem in convincing Fluminense to let the defender move in January.
Nottingham Forest are likely to be wise to agree a deal right now, as the player did a good job in the Libertadores title at the weekend, and may have drawn some good attention from other European sides in the coming weeks.
