Crystal Palace could still see Marc Guehi depart the club this summer, and Joachim Andersen is on his way to Fulham, leaving the Eagles backline in a bit of an uncertain position.
Given that, it is normal for Oliver Glasner’s side to be linked with centre-backs. There now seems to be a new name that is of interest to Crystal Palace.
Italian outlet Quotidiano Sportivo have this week covered future of Union Saint Gilloise defender Koki Machida.
They start with the mention of interest from Bologna, who are very much looking for a new centre-back. The report goes on to state that there is also interest from Crystal Palace and even Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest.
Despite Bologna’s interest and their insistence on signing a new defender, Palace and Nottingham Forest could offer a more ‘substantial salary’ to the 26-year-old.
Il Resto del Carlino, as relayed by TuttoBolognaWeb, also mention interest from the two English clubs and state that Machida has asked for a move to a better league.
As of now, Nottingham Forest seem to have multiple centre-back options, so perhaps Palace are more in need of Machida.
