Nottingham Forest are in the race to sign Napoli forward Nicolao Dumitru, according to claims in the Italian media. The 24-year-old looks surplus to requirements with the Serie A side, and has in the past several seasons been sent out on loan to get playing time.
TMW have today revealed Nottingham Forest are giving consideration to signing Dumitru before Wednesday’s transfer deadline. The Championship side could look to bolster their attacking options before the transfer window closes, and the former Italy youth international is an option open to them.
However, they will face competition from Italian side Spezia, and in the coming hours the player will make a decision on his future.
Dumitru came through the Empoli youth system, and after making the breakthrough to their senior team he was transferred to Napoli in 2010.
The forward has played nine league games for Napoli, and has spent most of his time out on loan with a number of Italian clubs, including Ternana, Reggina and Latina.
