Despite being unable to stop Caen from getting relegated to Ligue 2, Brice Samba, their goalkeeper, remains an attractive player for a few clubs around Europe.

According to Soccer Link in France, one of those is Nottingham Forest, who recently welcomed Sabri Lamouchi as their new manager.

The former Rennes man is said to be a big fan of what Samba has to offer between the sticks, specifically his ‘explosiveness’ and how solid he is on his line.

The aforementioned Stade Rennais and Montpellier have both also been linked with a move for the 25-year-old, but Nottingham Forest’s arrival on the scene could change everything.

Soccer Link believe the Championship side ‘would like to finalise the transfer quickly’, probably because there isn’t much time left in their transfer window.

The player has already started his season, keeping a clean sheet in his first game in Ligue 2 in a 0-0 draw against Sochaux.

However, one might question Nottingham Forest’s need for a new goalkeeper seeing as they already have Costel Pantilimon, Jordan Smith and Luke Steele on their books, as well as Arijanet Muric on loan from Manchester City.
