Nottingham Forest’s interest in Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Jean Butez ‘has yet to become concrete’ despite reports of their interest.
That’s according to Gazete van Antwerp, who say the 28-year-old is ‘on the list’ for Nottingham Forest as they seek out a new number one.
Butez has been heavily linked with a move away from Antwerp this summer, with Burnley linked for weeks before seemingly dropping their interest and going for James Trafford instead.
It is now Nottingham Forest who appear to be keen, with them scouring the market for a new goalkeeper this summer after Keylor Navas and Dean Henderson returned to their parent clubs following the end of their loan deals.
A report yesterday explained that Butez has been put up for sale and Forest were keen, with GVA following that up today.
They explain that Butez is ‘on the list’, at Nottingham Forest and Fiorentina but ‘nothing concrete’ has been sent to Antwerp as yet.
The Belgian club believe Butez will be on the move this summer, with director of football Marc Overmars even admitting that there is a ‘good chance’ he will be departing.
The ‘goalkeeper carousel’ is running around Europe at this moment in time and Butez is on it, but things are not at full speed as yet.
The interested parties appear to be thinking of a loan with a mandatory purchase option but whether that’s interesting to Antwerp remains to be seen.
At the moment they’re yet to receive anything concrete from those looking at a deal, including Nottingham Forest.
