Last Friday, both UOL and Globo Esporte explained that Nottingham Forest have tabled a €9m bid to sign Botafogo’s Matheus Nascimento in the summer window.

Later that day, journalist Venê Casagrande backed it up and added the Brazilian club’s owner, John Textor, is willing to sell the striker for €10m. The American also made it clear the 19-year-old would be allowed to leave, if he wishes to join the Tricky Trees.

Casagrande has taken to Twitter again to state Nottingham Forest have ‘increased the offer’ to €10m to acquire 100% of the player’s rights.

He adds Steve Cooper’s side have also agreed to pay Botafogo 20% of a fee from the teenager’s future sale.

Even though the Premier League side’s improved bid meets Textor’s demand, Casagrande says Nascimento ‘just needs to accept’ the offer to make a switch to England. He says the player hasn’t given his approval to the transfer so far.

The journalist adds those involved in the negotiations claim the Brazil U20 international’s priority is to make a switch to Spain in this window.

Unless Nottingham Forest can convince Nascimento to join them, the deal can’t progress.
