On Tuesday evening, we covered a fresh transfer claim from Italy for Nottingham Forest.
Straight out of the pan and al dente, it was reported AS Roma’s Edoardo Bove was the latest name on the Premier League club’s list. According to those original claims, the 22-year-old isn’t in the long term plans of manager Daniele De Rossi.
Summer recruitment has made his route to minutes even more difficult, and the player had been made aware it’s probably best to find a new club.
That will have been tough for the youngster. He was born in Rome, came through the academy at AS Roma, and De Rossi had given him some chances since taking over.
There’s not quite the same attachment to youth products in Italy as there has been in English football traditionally, and therefore he’s just seen as a way to make money now.
Those original claims stated Roma value Bove at €15m, and Nottingham Forest’s offer was less than that.
Calciomercato now report Forest are in ‘hot negotiations’ to buy the player, with it very much presented as a permanent transfer.
They put Bove’s value at €12m, and a deal around that figure looks possible.
