Nikola Milenkovic has spent roughly half of his career being linked with a move to West Ham United. The claims came around every summer, and although it appeared the interest was genuine at times there was never the effort put in to take him from Fiorentina.

Sunday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport reports Premier League interest has returned, but this time from Nottingham Forest. Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Fulham are also credited with interest.

The Italian newspaper states Nottingham Forest ‘now swoops’ in with an effort to sign the central defender. According to the claims, they have an offer ready, described as an ‘important offer’, and La Viola are minded to accept.

Milenkovic is their highest paid player, largely thanks to the West Ham rumours, and is an easy target for cost-cutting. Obviously they’ll miss him on the pitch, but this is the cost-cutting stage of Fiorentina’s summer.

Tottenham, Aston Villa or Fulham may make a move too, although as far as Corriere dello Sport have it… Nottingham Forest are way out in front.
