Nottingham Forest are signing Benfica’s chief scout Pedro Ferreira, according to the latest reports from Portugal.
The first to break the news was Mais Futebol’s Bruno Andrade, claiming the 41-year-old already has an agreement with the Premier League side.
A Bola then came up to confirm the claims, saying Ferreira is indeed joining his compatriot Nuno Espírito Santo at Nottingham Forest.
That’s quite big news in Portugal, because the chief scout had been working for the Eagles for over a decade. He had jobs as assistant manager, youth scout, chief youth scout, first team scout and head of scouting there.
Given Benfica’s ability to sign young talents, especially from South America, to then sell them for much more money, that’s definitely a very interesting arrival at Nottingham Forest, who should have even better conditions to hold that type of player for longer.
The Reds have obviously been going through a complicated period right now, but Ferreira’s arrival may be a sign that they have some better plans when speaking of the club’s long-term success.
Given his success at Benfica, Nottingham Forest have done a very impressive deal here.
