Nottingham Forest and Emmanuel Denis agreed to end their relationship just before the transfer window closed at the end of August. That meant the 28-year-old would be classed as a free agent and therefore able to sign for another club before the winter market.

Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to secure a new destination since then.

Signing for Nottingham Forest in 2022 after a promising period at Watford, Denis cost around £10m. He wasn’t able to impose himself at the City Ground, and was subsequently sent on multiple loans.

Denis tried his luck at İstanbul Başakşehir, Watford again, and Blackburn Rovers, but the forward wasn’t able to recreate the form which had caught Nottingham Forest’s interest.

Now he has a chance to get his career back on track.

Tipsbladet report the player is currently in Denmark trying to secure a new club.

Brøndby have agreed to take Denis on trial from Friday. He’s set to travel with the club to their winter training camp and will need to impress. Fortunately, there’s a familiar face in charge.

Steve Cooper took over at Brøndby in September, and he’s the manager who signed Denis for Nottingham Forest. That’s the connection which has been used to get the player to Denmark.

Now it’s down to Emmanuel Denis himself to show that Steve Cooper’s faith isn’t misplaced.
