Earlier on Friday, reports from the Spanish media claimed that Nottingham Forest have already made a move for Real Betis winger Assane Diao.
With not many details on the chase, it was only said the Reds are keen, although the player is currently completely focused on the U-19 Euros.
Now Estadio Deportivo covers the reports about Nottingham Forest’s chase which claim that the Tricky Trees would like to negotiate a loan with an option or an obligation to buy.
It’s claimed that both Betis and Diao are taking this interest calmly, knowing that the transfer window is just opening, and some other options may show up.
The report says that the player has a €30m release clause, but that can be triggered for €15m in case the interested club double his salary. Yes, that does sound very odd, and isn’t explained any further, but perhaps it’s related to the player’s camp getting some of the money if a club paid €30m.
Nottingham Forest should face some competition for the signing, though, as Diao was previously linked to other Premier League clubs, and Saudi sides have been keen as well.
This seems to be just an early chase, which could see some advance in the next few weeks.
