Brentford have joined Nottingham Forest in the race to sign São Paulo’s Pablo Maia in the next window.
Earlier claims from the Brazilian media stated the Tricky Trees have been in the picture to sign the 21-year-old for some time.
UOL now claim Nottingham Forest and Brentford have ‘probed’ the conditions to buy the midfielder in the summer.
It’s not made clear if the Premier League duo approached Maia’s entourage or contacted the Brazilian club. Steve Cooper’s side and the Bees haven’t made an offer but have been ‘closely following’ his performances in the last few games.
Towards the end of April, the Brazilian signed a new deal until 2027. Despite this, he’s one of the São Paulo players who could be sold in the summer.
It’s further stated São Paulo are aware of the interest from England. Even though Maia is a player who could be sold, they won’t open the door for his transfer if the offer is less than €12m.
So Nottingham Forest and Brentford now know what they’d need to pay.
