Nottingham Forest may need to spend as much as €20-22m if they wish to sign Ruslan Malinovskyi from Atalanta.

That’s according to Tutto Atalanta, who cover Nottingham Forest’s and other side’s interest in the player today.

Several reports from Italy this week have made it clear that Nottingham Forest are keen on Malinovskyi, having turned their attention to him after wrapping up a deal for teammate Remo Freuler.

It’s believed that Steve Cooper’s side are serious about getting a deal over the line and TA back that up somewhat today.

They say that Forest are ‘on the Ukrainian’ and have already made an initial offer of €15m, which Atalanta are unlikely to accept.

They value Malinovskyi higher it cannot be ruled out they will ask for €20-22m for their man given they are not particularly keen on a sale in the first place.

There had been no intention to sell Freuler but the offer proved to be too good and Nottingham Forest could use their financial muscle again to convince them to sell Malinovskyi.

The website also reports that there is competition for his signature, with several clubs in the Premier League and beyond also said to ‘like him’.

The suggestion is that Forest would be wise to up their bid to match Atalanta’s demands, lest they lose out to the competition.
