Nottingham Forest had an attempt for Corinthians centre-back Murillo rejected, according to reports from Brazil.
UOL reports that the Tricky Trees ‘signalled’ they could make an offer for the defender, but that wouldn’t have convinced Corinthians.
The Brazilian club demand €20m for the sale, and would actually accept €18m, but Nottingham Forest wouldn’t reach that.
Corinthians’ idea is to hold Murillo at the club at least until December, which is when the season ends. So in case no one shows up to pay the €18m, they’re happy for him to stay.
In the past few weeks, the centre-back got linked to both Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It had been claimed that the Reds were willing to offer €15m for the transfer, with Wolves only putting €12m on the table. So it’s no surprise that none of them succeeded in their chase so far.
That’s pretty much the price that Brazilian players, especially defenders, usually cost.
However, Corinthians are in good form, fighting for the Copa Sudamericana title, and currently doing their best to hold onto the young prospect, meaning that perhaps an offer to take him in January would be more convincing.
