Ousmane Diomande’s move from Sporting Club de Portugal to Nottingham Forest is in the final stages and likely to be completed within hours.

O Jogo report that the defender’s switch to Oliver Glasner’s side is practically done and should be finalised ‘within the next few hours’.

Nottingham Forest deal ‘practically settled’

According to the newspaper, Nottingham Forest have ‘practically settled’ all of the relevant issues for the deal. They will pay a fixed fee of €40m, plus performance-based add-ons.

The Portuguese side had been hoping to secure €50m for the 22-year-old but have accepted less for ‘one of the team’s prized assets’.

A Bola, meanwhile, report that negotiations are ongoing regarding the €40m plus package. According to their information, those negotiations between Nottingham Forest and Sporting are in the final stretch.

They report that Nottingham Forest are poised to accept Sporting’s demands for their player. Sporting have refused to accept a fixed fee below €40m. They have insisted on bonuses tied to individual and team performance, as well as a percentage of capital gains from any future sale.

Negotiations are in the final stages though. Ousmane Diomande is preparing to realise his dream of playing in the Premier League. In fact, talks have accelerated to the point that it is unlikely Diomande will play for Sporting in a clash with Monaco on Saturday.

Nottingham Forest’s interest and efforts have been ‘intense’, driven largely by Olive Glasner. He wanted the defender at Crystal Palace previously. That’s led to a ‘relentless’ pursuit this summer and his departure is now imminent.

Sporting are set for a major profit on a player who cost them €14.5m in total. Payment terms are currently being discussed with Nottingham Forest for the deal.

The Portuguese side have already secured a replacement in Ibrahima Ba. That’s opened the door for Diomande to finalise his move to Forest post haste.
