Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United have been mentioned as suitors for Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi in the last few months. The two clubs are now facing a significant battle from Bournemouth for the midfielder.

Calciomercato IT report that Cherries’ sporting director Tiago Pinto previously tried to sign the midfielder at AS Roma. He knows his talents well and has carried his interest to the Premier League club.

Pinto wasn’t successful with the transfer at Roma, as Frattesi was then happy at Inter Milan at that time. Now, he is making major attempts to bring him to Bournemouth.

The Portuguese talent chaser has increased pressure on the Italian to join the south coast club, with the midfielder dissatisfied with life at the Nerazzurri.

The report confirms that Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest remain interested but things won’t be easy. Even Galatasaray have tried to sign the Italy international but they have only offered a loan deal this month.

Inter Milan only want a permanent transfer or if anything, a loan with an obligation to buy.

Pinto seen as important for Bournemouth chase

Frattesi is keen on joining Juventus, but he hasn’t made a final decision yet and the Turin club haven’t agreed a fee. This should give hope to Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United, but Bournemouth are climbing up in the list of suitors.

Juve haven’t made any significant moves for the 26-year-old and this can be another positive for the English sides.

The outlet note that Frattesi’s sale could actually take place in the next few days. He has played a little over 500 minutes in Serie A this season. That is unlikely to satisfy him ahead of the World Cup, which Italy are still trying to qualify for.

Bournemouth are yet to make a formal offer for the Azzurri player, but Pinto’s inclusion is seen as important.
