Five days ago, we covered claims from France on Sunderland’s interest in US Sassuolo’s Armand Laurienté.

On Wednesday, Sassuolo News reported the Serie A newcomers want €30m to sell the forward this summer.

Sunderland are keen on signing the 26-year-old and are making advances to try and sign him, according to Foot Mercato.

The Frenchman played a key role in helping Sassuolo secure promotion to the top flight, scoring 19 goals and registering six assists last season.

His fine displays have attracted interest from several Italian clubs and elsewhere, ‘notably Premier League clubs like Sunderland’.

Foot Mercato explains all these teams, including the Black Cats, have contacted Sassuolo and ‘discussions are progressing’. However, none of the interested parties have found an agreement yet either with Laurienté or his club.

Sassuolo are firm with their demands, without mentioning their price, while Laurienté is taking time to analyse offers. The report states he feels ready to move elsewhere and has to decide his next club.

Régis Le Bris’ side will be awaiting his decision and if he were to favour them, they still have to find an agreement with Sassuolo.
