Two days ago, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report Manchester United interest in AIK Fotboll’s Kevin Filling.
He explained Manchester United are in ‘concrete negotiations’ over a deal for the 16-year-old ‘talented striker’.
Plettenberg also reported a deal for the teenager can be agreed in the winter market for a fee of around €3m.
Fotboll Direkt on Thursday take a look at this claim and waste no time to dismiss it. They report ‘it’s not true’ that Manchester United are in concrete negotiations with the Swedish club for the ‘super talent’.
The Sweden U18 international left Västerås SK to join AIK’s academy in 2023. He was promoted to their first team earlier this year and has scored two goals from seven games.
Filling is said to have attracted interest, but Fotboll Direkt report Manchester United haven’t made advances to sign him.
In addition to this, AIK have no plans to sell him in January. Should they change their mind, it’s claimed they will demand much more than the €3m mentioned on Tuesday.
Filling will turn 18 years of age in November 2026 and won’t be eligible to arrive in the UK until then. Therefore, it makes sense that Manchester United aren’t in negotiations to sign the Swede in January.
