Brighton & Hove Albion star Moisés Caicedo has expressed his desire to join Real Madrid in the future.
Speaking to Cadena Ser, relayed by Mundo Deportivo, the 21-year-old has opened up about his admiration towards the La Liga side.
“I like Real Madrid,” the Brighton midfielder said.
The Seagulls signed Caicedo from Independiente del Valle in January 2021 and he initially struggled to have prominence at The Amex.
The Ecuador international has established himself as one of the key figures at Brighton since the start of last year. His fine displays for the Premier League side this season convinced Arsenal to make firm efforts to secure his services in the winter market.
After the Gunners failed to complete the deal in January, Roberto De Zerbi’s side offered the player an extension last month. His deal lasts until 2027, with his club having an option to extend it by a year.
Despite committing his long-term future to Brighton, Caicedo believes his development at the club could help him make a jump to Real Madrid.
“It was always my dream to play for Real Madrid. Now I’m doing things very well and why not one day play there and win the Champions League with Real Madrid,” Caicedo explained.
The midfielder has a goal and an assist from 33 games this season for Brighton.
