Joachim Andersen finished his debut season at Crystal Palace with 39 appearances in all competitions, which included 32 starts in the league.

The defender joined the Eagles from Lyon last summer, after spending the previous term on loan at Fulham.

Having enjoyed prominence and stability at Selhurst Park, the Denmark international is not looking for a move away from Palace anytime soon.

“I’m not going anywhere this year. I haven’t talked to my agent and I’m super happy here,” he told Denmark’s Tipsbladet.

“I’ve been here a year now and have calmed down after being around a bit. It is clear that if something nice happens, I have to look at it, but I’m really happy to be here.

“We had five or six times, last season, where we threw away a lead at the end of the match. It was many points we could easily have won. Then we might have ended up in the top seven-eight places and I think there is something to build on for this season for us. We need to be more stable. But I am excited about this season.”

Andersen’s performances for the Premier League side have helped him regain his place back in the national team. A stay at Palace next campaign will only help the centre-back cement his position in Kasper Hjulmand’s plans.

“It’s really given me a lot of confidence and I want to keep going. So, it’s about doing well at Palace, and then it’s up to Hjulmand,” the Dane explained.

Palace appointed Patrick Vieira as their new manager last summer and Andersen discussed the Frenchman’s importance for the Premier League side.

“He is a great personality and a huge legend in the Premier League. He has been at the highest level and knows what it takes,” Andersen said about his manager.

“There is an aura about him, and when he speaks, people listen with respect. He has good ideas and will play with high pressure and great energy. It’s nice football to play.”

Tispbladet asked Andersen whether he has chatted with his coach about signing OGC Nice’s Kasper Dolberg for the Premier League side. Vieira knows the forward well as he managed him during his time with the Ligue 1 club.

“Ha, no. I haven’t talked to him that much, and I don’t think I get much out of going and saying something to him all the time. But it is clear that I hope that Kasper will come. He’s a class striker, but I don’t know the club’s thoughts,” the defender stressed.
