In September, Aston Villa star Youri Tielemans picked up a calf injury and was out of action for close to two months.

Since regaining full fitness, the midfielder has been quickly able to regain his place under Unai Emery and has managed to impress regularly for the Premier League side.

Last month, Tielemans explained he believed he’d regained his best form after recovering from his injury setback. The midfielder has played 1,255 minutes from 18 matches in all competitions this season.

The Belgium international’s recent performances for Aston Villa have clearly not gone unnoticed. That’s at least what journalist Sacha Tavolieri is reporting.

He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report transfer interest from Saudi Arabia. The journalist hasn’t revealed the name of the club but claims they made an approach to sign the 28-year-old in the winter market.

However, the former Leicester City man has ruled out an exit in this window. According to Tavolieri, leaving the Premier League side in January isn’t ‘part of his plans’.

As things stand, Tielemans will enter the final year of contract next summer. Aston Villa may consider selling him after this season if he doesn’t sign an extension.

The big money of Saudi Arabia has been put on hold for now.
