Over the past 24 hours, there’s been multiple reports Crystal Palace are again showing interest in Fenerbahçe defender Jayden Oosterwolde.

The Dutchman has previously been linked with a transfer to the Eagles in 2024.

With the departure of Marc Guéhi to Manchester City, they may need to bring in a replacement this month. The club captain finally left, with his contract set to expire in the summer.

Sercan Hamzaoğlu reports on the latest developments regarding Crystal Palace’s pursuit for Oosterwolde. He says the Premier League side have contacted Fenerbahçe and asked for the conditions of a transfer.

Fener, as it stands, aren’t interested in losing a key player at their stage of the season. However, they are still prepared to listen to what Crystal Palace would propose for the 24-year-old.

Sercan Hamzaoğlu explained “Crystal Palace has contacted Fenerbahçe regarding Jayden Oosterwolde and conveyed to the club that they want to transfer the player. Fenerbahçe is not currently considering selling the player but wants to learn what the offer will be.”
That very much sounds like Fenerbahçe are tempted to sell, but would rather their supporters thought otherwise.

Crystal Palace made contact in 2024

During the 2024 summer transfer window, Crystal Palace monitored his situation, along with Newcastle United.

Both Premier League clubs contacted Fenerbahçe with regards to Oosterwolde’s availability.

After picking up a serious knee injury towards the end of 2024, which ruled him out for five months, speculation of a transfer to England went away.

However, Oosterwolde returned to training last April and his performances this season have again brought him to the attention of Premier League sides. Along with Crystal Palace, Leeds United are also monitoring the player’s situation.

This season he’s made 28 appearances in all coemptions, scoring one goal. He’s contracted to the Istanbul giants until June 2028, after extending his current deal in the summer.
