Nikola Milenković is set to leave Fiorentina at the end of the season if multiple reports coming out of Italy are to be believed.

Various claims stated Manchester United are one of the firm candidates for signing the defender.

Over the weekend, TuttoMercatoWeb reported the 23-year-old is going ‘towards Manchester United’.

AC Milan are another club that has long been linked with the centre-back. According to Il Milanista, the Rossoneri are looking to strengthen their back four and the ‘first name’ on their list is the Fiorentina player.

The San Siro side have long ‘liked’ the the Serbia international, especially their manager, Stefano Pioli.

Pioli would prefer to have the central defender at Milan, but acquiring Milenković’s services is ‘not easy’.

Milan will face competition from England, and in particular from the Red Devils and Manchester City as it’s claimed the two Manchester clubs are ‘on his trail’.

With a contract expiring in 2022, Milenković has decided not to renew and ‘would like to play’ in the Premier League.

These two factors give United an advantage over Milan in the transfer chase for the Serbian.
