As things stand, the purchase of Everton by 777 Partners has yet to be completed, and it remains a big dark cloud looming over the Premier League club.
It’s something that is being talked about a lot in Belgium as they also own Standard Liège, and that’s why Amadou Onana, currently on international duty, was asked about it in a press conference on Wednesday, relayed by DH.
The 22-year-old is one of the big stars at Everton despite his young age, and that is also the case for his country under Domenico Tedesco.
That’s why his opinion matters a lot to journalists and fans of both club and national team, and is the reason behind him being asked about the 777 Partners issue.
He replied: “It’s not my decision, so I have no influence. We’ll see when the takeover is finalised.”
As for his future, the midfielder is fully focused on finishing the season and getting as far as possible in the Euros with Belgium.
A transfer certainly isn’t on his mind right now, at least not publicly, with his first port of call being making sure Everton continue in the Premier League next season.
