Burnley midfielder Josh Cullen has insisted they’re not giving up on the Premier League yet and will be fighting every week until the end of the season.
The midfielder has been speaking to Walfoot in Belgium about Burnley’s current situation, and the feeling in Vincent Kompany’s squad at this point.
The Clarets returned to the Premier League under the Belgian manager last season, playing an exciting, attacking brand of football that won them many admirers and saw them finish top with a whopping 101 point and just three defeats all season.
There were big hopes for them this season because of that but their style has so far proven ineffective in the top flight, with just three wins from 28 games so far.
That’s left them sitting in the bottom three on 14 points, ten from safety at this moment in time and level with bottom placed Sheffield United.
Most believe they are already relegated despite there being ten points left in the campaign, but Cullen insists that is not the feeling in the Burnley squad, instead claiming that their mentality isn’t that low despite their situation.
“We will continue to fight until it is not finished mathematically,” he said.
“There are still points to be taken. It’s not over! Like I said, we will continue to fight every week, everything being convinced that we can achieve a good series of results to get out of this situation.
“A point at West Ham must be respected.”
