It may only have been a few months since Gabriel Sara arrived at Norwich City, but there’s already people wondering about his next move.
As Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte today features a story about São Paulo’s success in keeping percentages for future transfers of players they sold, there’s a couple of mentions about the Canaries’ midfielder.
The Tricolor sold Gabriel Sara to Norwich City on a €10.5m deal last summer, and according to the report, they get 10% of his next move.
Globo Esporte interviewed São Paulo president Julio Casares to talk about those players who could still give the club some profit, and the club chief seems really confident that the 23-year-old will soon leave the Canaries on a big deal.
“If Brenner is negotiated, we will have a percentage. Gabriel Sara, we’ll have a percentage. When I feel that in a window Sara can give me an income, maybe not as much as Antony, I can negotiate less the sale of a player here,” Julio Casares told Globo Esporte.
“You’re seeing the performance of Sara, of Morato. All these are players that São Paulo are a partner, it’s an institutional income.”
Following his summer move, Gabriel Sara took a few months until getting completely adapted to English football, and would mostly be used as a second-half substitute until October.
Then he ended up becoming a regular starter at Norwich City, and currently has six goals and four assists in 35 appearances this season.
