Although Benfica seem to be close to signing Chiquinho back from Moreirense, the Portuguese press won’t forget about the interest of Norwich City in the player.

The Canaries’ chase for the midfielder had already been reported last week, when it was said that he would be moving to Krasnodar or Benfica.

Now as the Eagles move edges closer, newspaper O Jogo claims that Norwich City have sent a scout to watch the player in Moreirense’s match against Braga on Saturday.

The Canaries would also ‘make their offer’ for him on this very same trip. So if the information is real, this bid would have already been made by now.

O Jogo reports that Benfica are close to signing Chiquinho, but they are not paying what Moreirense demand. So talks are being made about including some loan players in the deal.

That means perhaps Norwich City could still convince Moreirense to sell the player to them. Benfica, who used to own him, still get 50% of a transfer. So the Canaries must make a convincing bid so there’s a decent amount left for Moreirense.
