Last week, the Brazilian media revealed Norwich City’s interest in Palmeiras youngster Vanderlan. Back then, it was claimed by UOL that the Canaries made first contact to get to know the conditions for a potential deal.

Now a couple of outlets in Brazil claim that the Championship side placed a bid to get the 21-year-old signed.

The first to report the offer was UOL. They claim that Norwich City made an offer and Palmeiras are analysing it, although the amount is below expected.

Globo Esporte, meanwhile, take things further. They claim that the Canaries bid was actually for a loan, and was turned down by the Brazilian club.

It’s said that Palmeiras have no intention to get rid of the player this summer, neither on a loan nor a permanent deal, and only ‘thanked’ Norwich City for the offer.

The website adds that there are other European clubs interested in Vanderlan, but it was only the Canaries who placed a bid. Now we shall see if the Championship side will make a second attempt.
