Despite the silence during the past few days, it seems that Marvin Zeegelaar’s move from Sporting CP to Norwich City could still be on.

According to Portuguese newspaper Record, the negotiations had some ups and downs this week, but the clubs are close on agreeing a €3.5m fee with another €1.5m in bonuses.

Zeegelaar is not part of Jorge Jesus’ plans for the future, and as Sporting are getting rid of all the dead weight, Norwich are showing up as a perfect opportunity to transfer the player.

CapturarThe 26-year-old signed for Sporting for €500k in January 2016, and certainly hasn’t been an outcast there this season. He’s made 16 appearances during the current campaign, including five games in the Champions League group stage.

He was even called up to the Dutch national squad in November last year, although he didn’t enter the pitch in any of the games.

Last week, the Portuguese media claimed exactly same price and even said the player would be flying to England on Friday, but it obviously didn’t happen. It’s hard to understand the ups and downs if the fee is staying the same, but buying players from the Portuguese league is never something easy.
