Norwich City are reportedly in ‘advanced negotiations’ to sign Marcelino Nunez, according to reports from Chile.

En Cancha reveals that the Universidad Catolica player is ‘one step’ from moving to the Canaries, as the transfer is ‘close’ to being done.

The outlet claims that the move could be done for around €3m, and highlights the discontentment from manager Ariel Holan, who’s losing one more player from his squad.

Nunez is a 22-year-old midfielder who’s been developing well at Universidad Catolica since his debut in 2020. Since last year, he’s been a regular with Chile’s national squad as well.

By going after Nunez, Norwich City prove that they’ve been keeping an attentive eye in the South American market  this year, as the Canaries already confirmed the arrival of Gabriel Sara from São Paulo this month.

The Championship side spent over €10m to sign the Brazilian, and just as his transfer kind of happened out of nothing, this seems to be the same with Nunez, who hadn’t been linked to the club before and now seems on the verge of moving.
