Brentford fans don’t need to worry about Michael Kayode wanting to leave anytime soon. That’s if his latest comments are anything to go by.

He’s been speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy. And it’s very clear that’s he’s more than happy at Brentford at this moment in time.

The full-back joined Brentford in the January transfer window this year, initially signing on loan from Fiorentina. That deal was then made permanent in the summer, with Kayode signing a five-year deal with the Bees.

He’s been a regular since initially signing on loan, making 12 appearances last season and then 18 in all competitions to date this season. He is very much the first choice right-back and has made himself even more key thanks to his proficiency at long throws.

Indeed, Kayode is considered the Premier League king at long throws, despite not knowing himself how he ended up in the role.

The 21-year-old has a bright future ahead of him, and his performances for Brentford will not be going unnoticed. He, though, appears to be more than happy where he is for the time being.

“Obviously I was very happy because I think the Premiership is an incredible league. Everyone wants to play with it. I was very happy,” he said about initially joining in January.

“I feel it (Brentford) very suitable. I had a great time immediately, for me it is a fantastic club and I’m very happy with everything here.

“There is a beautiful group: I’m not just talking about players and staff, but everyone welcomes you as if you’ve been here for three or four years.”
