Here’s one less name in the list of potential new managers at Tottenham Hotspur.
According to reports from Italy, Spurs target Luciano Spalletti is no longer an option as he’s chosen to stay at Napoli.
The new is brought by journalist Ciro Venerato and relayed by NapoliCalcioLive, who feature a story about this ‘no to Tottenham’.
Following Napoli’s historic league title, there had been huge concern about the management at the Serie A side, since director Cristiano Giuntoli is on his way out to Juventus, and Spalletti was unhappy with his contract being extended by a clause with no communication from the club.
That’s why Tottenham showed up as an option for him, as Spurs’ quest for a new manager also gets big coverage from the Italian media.
However, according to Venerato’s latest news, Spalletti ended up finding an agreement to stay at Napoli and continue in charge of that squad.
He reportedly reached a deal for a new two-year contract, with an option for a further year, and is set to earn a salary worth €4m net per season.
