On September 9th, Sport1 said ‘everything is open’ as the defender’s camp continue to negotiate with the Blues over a new contract.
These claims are relayed by La Colina de Nervión, and they add Jules Koundé is always in the spotlight for the west London club.
Chelsea wanted the Sevilla star in the summer, but failed to agree a deal with the La Liga side to conclude the transfer.
It’s said that if Rüdiger leaves his current employer in January, the Champions League winners ‘could accelerate a new attack’ for the 22-year-old.
La Colina de Nervión claim ‘it is no secret’ the France international wants to join the English club, with whom he had already reached an agreement in the summer.
Sevilla will need an important offer to let the player leave and it’ll be now down to Chelsea 
owner Roman Abramovich to sanction the big investment needed to sign Koundé. That didn’t happen in the last window and only time will tell whether the Blues will change their stance in the future.
Over at AS, they compare Koundé’s failed move to Chelsea with the Premier League side’s failed efforts to sign Dani Alves in 2007, a year before his then club-record sale to Barcelona.
The newspaper suggests the defender, ‘at the moment, is imitating almost all the steps’ of Alves.
