Sheffield Wednesday currently find themselves on minus ten points at the foot of the Championship, and facing likely relegation. It’d take much more than even the effort Danny Röhl put in to save them previously, and hopes are somewhat drifting.

That said, confidence for the future is stronger than it was not so long ago. A much needed regime change was welcomed not only by Sheffield Wednesday fans, but throughout football.

Now, the club need to find a new owner and that’s seen multiple names linked with taking over at the Owls. One of those has been Anders Holch Povlsen.

The 53-year-old Danish businessman is worth around £6bn, so certainly has the funds. He’s also the largest private landowner in the UK.

However, he will not be Sheffield Wednesday’s new owner.

Danish website Tipsbladet have been in contact after the rumours, and been told the billionaire, who owns FC Midtjylland, has ‘no plans to bid’.

Anders Holch Povlsen has ‘no intention’ of making a move for the Championship club. It doesn’t sound like that will change, and the message is sent clearly.
