As we all now know, N’Golo Kanté is very good at football.
There’s little left to be said in that department that hasn’t already been said, and the player’s performances at the Euros so far have done very little to dispel this train of thought.
This has led to much covered speculation from most big Premier League sides, Juventus, and a couple from Spain.
It’s the latter country that are today’s focus, Real Madrid more precisely, and we’ve got a brand new website in Spain called Vozpópuli claiming Zinedine Zidane has made the Frenchman one of his top priorities this summer.
As is the case with new websites, we can’t vouch for their reliability just yet, but their tagline is “the value of being free and reliable”, so, you know, they think they are.
The website states that Zidane told Florentino Pérez all the way back in February that he wanted a new defensive midfielder in the side to balance a very attacking squad of players, and Kanté would be the perfect option.
The French manager believes he can turn the Leicester City star into Real Madrid’s new Claude Makélélé; someone willing to sacrifice themselves for the good of the side.
Vozpópuli refuse to acknowledge there is a release clause in Kanté’s contract, stipulating the player would be available for around €35m (£27.6m), which would be well within Real Madrid’s financial reach.
That’s the second Kanté to Real rumour in a couple of days, and it wouldn’t surprise us if Zidane was indeed a fan.
