Manchester City target Dani Olmo is going nowhere, according to those in charge at RB Leipzig.
Club chief Oliver Mintzlaff has been interviewed by Bild journalist Christian Falk, and was asked about the rumours surrounding the 25-year-old.
Asked about Olmo’s potential move to Manchester City, the RB Leipzig boss was very clear when saying that transfer isn’t happening.
“Dani Olmo will be part of the Leipzig squad, no matter who is interested,” said Mintzlaff.
Earlier this week, Olmo himself spoke about the rumours. He was asked by Bild about Manchester City’s interest in him, and pointed out he considers them a ‘big club’.
RB Leipzig, however, never seemed interested in engaging in talks for their star, and it always seemed clear they’d only let him go if his €60m release clause was triggered.
Manchester City might have signed Josko Gvardiol from the Bundesliga side this summer, but that didn’t help them in negotiations for Olmo.
With Mintzlaff now confirming what the recent reports had been saying, it seems like time to put this rumour to bed, as Pep Guardiola continues to look at other targets in the final days of the window.
