On Monday, Corriere dello Sport claimed AS Roma have made initial contact with Wolves for David Møller Wolfe.
The Italian side were confident that a deal was possible, with the newspaper expecting Kostas Tsimikas to return to Liverpool. The Norwegian was seen as a suitable replacement, even if Atletico Madrid’s Matteo Ruggeri was also a possible target.
Roma have continued to sniff around the Wolves player’s situation, having found openings during initial talks.
Today’s Corriere dello Sport reports the Giallorossi’s initial offer for the defender.
Roma have put forward €10m for the 23-year-old, amidst confidence that he will solve their problems at left-back.
Wolves have rejected this offer, as they want at least €15m for Møller Wolfe’s sale. Besides that, they aren’t too interested in letting the Norway international depart in the middle of the season anyway.
Gazzetta dello Sport – relayed by VoceGiallorossa, have something similar in their report.
The pink daily claim Roma’s offer was actually at €8m and this was rejected by Wolves. Despite that, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have ‘no intention of backing down’ and could make another attempt.
In fact, a new offer can be made in the next few hours, with Møller Wolfe currently at the top of Roma’s shortlist.
At the same time, Il Tempo have a different variation of the offer from the Italian side. They believe – relayed by SiamoLaRoma, that Roma actually offered €9m. The discrepancy in figures is likely down to differing conversion rates.
