Celtic’s Luis Palma has been on loan at Lech Poznań since the summer.
Earlier this month, there were claims that Wilfried Nancy could recall him in the winter market. On December 3rd, TVP Sport reported Celtic don’t have a clause to cut short his loan deal next month.
The Polish club have secured a €4m purchase option. Their communications director, Maciej Henszel, recently said they’ll have to break their transfer record to buy the Celtic player.
Last week, journalist Dawid Dobrasz reported Lech Poznań aren’t convinced with Palma’s recent performances. Goal.pl now reiterate that and provide the latest on the winger.
If the purchase clause isn’t activated, Lech Poznań could still negotiate with Celtic to buy the 25-year-old. If this were to happen, the report states the Bhoys have ‘no intention’ to lower the price below €4m.
As well as the transfer fee, the Polish club also have to take salary into account. The Honduras international is said to be earning €800k per year at Celtic Park.
Goal.pl say this is too high for most of the Polish clubs, but not for Widzew Łódź. They recently signed Lukas Lerager and offered him a deal worth €800k per year plus €250k bonuses.
In short, Widzew Łódź could certainly afford to sign the Honduras international. The door could open for them if Lech Poznań decide against meeting Celtic’s price for Palma.
For now, everything is in Lech Poznań’s hands, and they have a decision to make.
