The contract situation of Liverpool star Roberto Firmino is now a subject in the German media, where Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg brings some updates on the situation.
According to this last report, the forward is ‘leaning towards’ an extension with the Reds, as he continues to be ‘happy’ at Anfield.
Plettenberg, however, claims there will be no ‘fast decision’ taken by Firmino or Liverpool, despite the ‘positive’ talks for a happy outcome.
It’s pointed out that the Brazilian has been drawing the interest from Saudi Arabia, with clubs ‘pushing’ to bring him there.
News #Firmino: He is still leaning towards a contract extension with Liverpool, he is happy but no fast decision. Talks ongoing and positive. But: He has requests from Saudi Arabia. Some clubs are pushing. But not Al-Nassr. #LFC @SkySportDE 🇧🇷 pic.twitter.com/B3h3t8QLhl

There are no details on who are specifically trying to sign him, despite the mention that Cristiano Ronaldo’s new side Al-Nassr are not involved in that.
Despite ups and downs in the past few years, Firmino has nine goals and four assists in 21 appearances for Liverpool this season, despite missing out in recent games.
The Brazilian media recently reported that the Reds were thinking about handing him a new short-term contract, and with the player feeling comfortable at the club, he’d be unlikely to turn that down.
