For those wondering where Clinton N’Jié had gone, he’s well on his way to Marseille, according La Provence in the south of France.
The local newspaper have an update on the Tottenham winger’s future, and they make it clear he will be playing in Ligue 1 next season by opening their article with: “There is no doubt left, Clinton N’Jié will be Marseille’s eighth signing of the summer window”.
As well as announcing the arrival of N’Jié, the French club should, within the same time bracket (‘in the coming hours’), also officialise the departure of Georges-Kevin Nkoudou to Tottenham.
The deal bringing the youngster to Marseille is said to be a loan (no mention of a buyout clause), while Nkoudou’s will be the permanent transfer that has been on the verge of happening for the past two weeks.
Arriving from Lyon last summer, the Cameroonian winger struggled to break into Spurs’ first-team, and a loan back to Ligue 1 might give him the experience and confidence he needs to do so properly for the 2017-18 season.
